Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

1) develops the main directions of state policy in the field of electric power industry;

1-1) provides state financial support to a single buyer in the event that it is impossible for him to fulfill his obligations to energy-producing organizations to maintain the availability of electric power due to insufficient income from the provision of services to ensure the availability of electric power to carry the load to compensate for the costs incurred solely in the provision of this service.;

1-2) Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 03.01.2022 No. 101-VII (effective sixty calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

1-3) provides state financial support to a single buyer of electric energy in the event of a loss and (or) a shortage of funds resulting from late payment by consumers of purchased electric energy.;

1-4) in the case specified in paragraph 7-2 of Article 15-6 of this Law, determines the winner of the tender for the construction of newly commissioned generating units.;

1-5) Approves the list of consumers of the wholesale electric energy market who purchase electric energy at the investment tariff (hereinafter referred to as recipients of the investment tariff);

1-6) determines the procedure for forming and setting deadlines for the provision of an investment tariff

2) Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04/19/2023 No. 223-VII (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

3) performs other functions assigned to him by the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 9, 2004 No. 588.

This Law regulates public relations arising in the process of production, transmission and consumption of electric energy.
